The chief executive of Delta Air Lines Inc ( DAL.N ) says the SkyTeam alliance of global carriers would be willing to invest more than its proposed $1.02 billion in Japan Airlines ( 9205.T ), the Wall Street Journal reported.
The final proposed investment into JAL by the nine-airline SkyTeam alliance could be "greater than what we've stated" thus far, Richard Anderson said in an interview on Friday with the newspaper.

Eight percent of the baggage scales at New York's Kennedy and LaGuardia airports failed an initial accuracy check, according to the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs.
That failure rate was lower than a similar check of all airport scales in New York City last year, when 12% of scales had readings that were inaccurate by more than one pound, DCA said Friday.
Overall, 92% of the 608 luggage scales at Kennedy passed the department's accuracy test, which requires that airport scales cannot read

The president of United ( UAUA Quote ) says the successful execution of the merger between Delta ( DAL Quote ) and Northwest should change the way airline mergers are viewed and could make them easier going forward.
